NABET41 / NBCs iVillage / SPI-tv

NABET, Local 41 has asked us to shoot a little thank you video Friday, September 28 in front of the NBC Tower here in Chicago to give thanks for making the network's newest show, iVillage, a Union show. NABET has arranged to help the new show keep going by passing out some promotional material. SPI-tv Media will be on hand to shoot a little promo piece and edit it together for use on the Web. Rogelio Gazga is a NABET member and will be on hand to help. SPI-tv Media will shoot it on High Def and cut the piece together. We'll have it online as well as on our featured works page of the website. The video will be distributed to supporters of the show as well as team members and co-workers. Look for it coming soon. We have a new member joining us at SPI-tv Media Group. He is a former Colorado native now residing in Chicago and his new found love is the Burrito House on Lincoln and Addison. Good choice since a burrito never breaks your heart only gives you heartburn. Congrats! Chris can be reached at chris@spi-tv.com. Chris was highly active in the ski and snowboarding world, he'll show you his scars to prove it, but only if you ask nicely. If you are interested in new projects give him a holler. Looking for Suave Sales Guy (or Gal)

We are currently looking for a sales person to help us with ongoing projects and service promotion. If you love sales, we love you. The position is very user friendly and is no frills. The account executive position will be in charge of finding new business as a media sales rep. You should have a good idea of who you may want to contact. We will not provide you with a list. If we had the time for that, we'd do it ourselves. But we will help. You would be expected to contact large corporations that produce B2B communication pieces, training videos, corporate videos, broadcast commercials, that sort of thing.

This extremely informative DVD is a "must see" for anyone contemplating a career as an actor or on-camera performer. The point is immediately pressed home that only hard work and the right skills will lead to success. First, one must have solid acting training, so we visit a leading Chicago acting school to find out what kinds of classes to take, what to expect, and the costs involved. The filmmakers take the opportunity to point out the many scams that may be encountered in trying to get started. Once you have honed your acting chops, you need to learn how to market yourself to get those paying jobs. This involves creating a résumé and getting headshots and composite cards. Now we are off to renowned professional photographer Socko, who walks us through the ups and downs in this area. For those interested only in a "voiceover" career, a visit to Sherri Berger, owner of a leading voiceover studio, is next to learn the do's and don'ts of producing a voice demo. Finally, there is a detailed segment on finding an agent, doing mass mailings, the hiring process, and the pros and cons of performing in both union and nonunion work. DITL, New Show!

SPI-tv Media Group's new property, DITL is in post and will be ready by Mid June or early July. DITL, or Day In The Life is a new series that takes you into the daily lives of some of Chicago's familiar and not so familiar jobs like a radio DJ, CTA train driver, City Police officer, fire fighter, Sears Tower window washer, all night pet hospital, etc.

DITL is the first in the line of new show properties and specials that is being developed by SPI-tv Media Group.

Our friend Sara has gotten herself into trouble in Hollywood. She's booked an e-show TV pilot called Stuntgirls. The show is a docu-reality show that follows the lives of stunt girls. Check it out here at Stuntgirls. She's been pretty busy. She's also appearing on an episode on USA Network's MONK this July which will be the show's return from their summer hiatus. Go girl!

As some of you may recall Sara was our talent for one of our client's car infomercial, The Steve Peters Show and the Real Show, which is now helmed by Chicago's V103 stars Ramonski Luv and Joe Soto. Check it, Check it, Check it!
